Amãna Bank celebrate “World Children’s Day”

Amãna Bank, the pioneer of non-interest based banking celebrated World Children's Day by opening more than 1,200 Children Savings Accounts for the underprivileged together with M J Muzammil Foundation. The accounts were officially handed over at an event held to mark the World Children's Day celebrations which was graced by Member of Parliament Hon. Karu Jayasuriya and Mayor of Colombo Hon M J M Muzammil. The Bank also provided school stationery for the children.

Commenting on this Mr Mohamed Azmeer, Chief Operating Officer of Amana Bank said "We are indeed happy to be a part of this noble initiative on this very special day. Our Children's Savings account is an ideal gift for children where we intend to cultivate the savings habit among them from an early age as they are the future of our country. The Children's Savings account would act as an investment for their future and provide them with a host of benefits"

The Bank's Children's Savings account is based on the principle of profit sharing and offers a higher share of the profits earned through our investment pool to help children achieve their dreams faster. In September the Bank's profit for Children's Savings account stood at 8.08% per annum. Powered by the stability and the support of its strategic shareholders Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, the Islamic Development Bank based in Saudi Arabia and AB Bank in Bangladesh, the Bank is focused on capitalizing the growing market potential for their unique banking model across the country.
